The Community Engagement Manager will work as part of a small team in a highly collaborative Community & Donor Relations Office dedicated increasing the awareness of and advocacy for the Mission and Vision of the Children’s Home and Southern Tier Community Center’s programs and operations.
 
They will work with Senior Management, Leadership Council and program supervisors/managers in the areas of community outreach, fundraising, special events, and marketing communications to develop partnerships, manage relationships and collaborate with the communities served by CHWC and STCC.

The Children’s Home / Southern Tier Community Center has raised in excess of $1 million through fundraising, donor development, targeted campaigns and special events to support toward their Mission over the last 3 years, allowing the agency to grow programs to continue to support children and families to build positive futures in Broome County and beyond.  This role is critical to that continued expansion.
 
Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute marketing and fundraising strategies including:
                Donor engagement
                Sponsorship acquisition
                Targeted appeals, campaigns, newsletters and assorted marketing collateral
 
Organize and coordinate special events (approx. 6 scheduled events per year) to promote the Mission of CHWC and STCC (including detailed tasks & timelines, main point of contact, budgeting and logistics)
 
Oversee the development, management and maintenance of the agency’s online presence (including public-facing websites), administration, content planning and updates on a regular basis
 
Guide communications by playing a key role in producing engaging content across all platforms (esp. social media and websites) and serve liaison with outsourced/third party marketing communications
 
Actively pitch story ideas about the organization to local, regional and national media outlets as appropriate
 
Coordinate and manage small established volunteer base as requested
 
Oversee minor administrative duties, data collection and reporting, and foster interdepartmental coordination and other general duties as requested
 
Required skills:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in fundraising, event planning, relationship management, community engagement and/or nonprofit preferred
Superior verbal, written communication skills
Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, various digital tools and knowledge of website design
Must maintain confidentiality, manage work-flows effectively and be self-motivated

Salary:
$56,000 - $62,000
