Electrical Hardware Engineering Assistant

ENSCO Avionics, Inc. has a need for a hands-on Electrical Hardware Engineering Assistant. Candidate will be responsible for the assembly, test, and integration of avionics equipment. Candidate will work closely with Electrical Hardware Engineers during the requirements through design phase of the projects. Initial software tools required include Excel, Word, Visio, and PC software packages. Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as GPIB and VME desired. Follow-on tasks may include hardware and software development of avionics test systems as well as EMI testing and support. Follow-on efforts and tools utilized include schematic design utilizing Mentor graphics and script level test tools.

Qualifications Required (Skills):

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience; or BS or equiv with 2 years experience
  • Hands-on electrical hardware experience
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and follow schematics, engineering drawings, circuit layouts, parts lists, cable harnesses
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting of electronic devices MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including working in team environments
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively in teleconferences with suppliers, clients and colleagues
  • Independent self-starter who can drive tasks to completion
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience with various serial bus interfaces such as RS422, USB, CAN, JTAG Test Equipment experience PC, VME, Or VXI driven hardware experience
  • Avionics or Military embedded controls
  • Mentor Graphics Script generation EMI/EMC (Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility) knowledge/experience
  • Knowledge/experience in RF principles, RF engineering
