Keystone Environmental Services (KES), a division of Keystone Material Testing, LLC, is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Binghamton, New York. You will play a key role in supporting our environmental consulting projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in environmental science or a related field, with experience in environmental sampling, data analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous building material inspections including, but not limited to, asbestos, lead-based paint, underground storage tanks and/or other possible hazardous materials
- Perform indoor air quality, water intrusion and IAQ/mold assessments
- Collect soil, air, water and bulk material samples as required by various regulatory agencies for laboratory analysis
- Maintain daily field logs and records and assist with project management tasks
- Analyze environmental data and prepare final client reports including, but not limited to, Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments
- Provide public, government organizations, and business clients guidance to mitigate environmental and health hazards
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field. 2 years related environmental experience preferred but will train ideal candidate
- Ability to read project specifications and drawings
- Knowledge of various sampling techniques and equipment in addition to experience performing environmental surveying and reporting
- Strong technical writing, computer and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Possession of current environmental certifications/licenses preferred but not required
