Calligraphy is one of the most beautiful expressions of Chinese culture, which forms the foundation of China’s rich heritage. We are excited to invite the renowned literary scholar and calligrapher, Dr. Wang Hongji, to Binghamton University to share his expertise and conduct an academic lecture, offering attendees a chance to explore both the art and language of Chinese calligraphy. Wang holds a Ph.D. in Literature from Beijing Normal University, is the founder of the Zhengdao Chinese School, a senior instructor of Chinese hard-pen calligraphy at the Chinese Calligraphy Research Institute, and the Secretary-General of the Zhengdao Chinese Language Association. A distinguished Chinese scholar, educator, literary historian, and master calligrapher. During the event, Dr. Wang will create calligraphy works on-site and generously give them to attendees free of charge. His calligraphy is recognized worldwide as a precious art form, with each character highly valued and collectible. This is a rare opportunity, and we encourage all faculty and students not to miss it. Important Notes: Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited. Attendees are encouraged to prepare their favorite quotes. After the lecture, participants may request Dr. Wang to create personalized calligraphy gifts.
