The Introduction to Python Programming Workshop is a one-day course held at Binghamton University on November 12 from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. This course introduces computer programming in Python for those who have little or no prior computer programming experience. The course will be heavily based on hands-on exercises, so participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own laptops. The following topics will be covered: software installation & language basics, variables & data structures (strings, lists, matrices, dictionaries), flow control & function definition, plotting & visualization, using modules, and object-oriented programming. A micro-credential (digital badge) will be issued to students who pass the exam given at the end of the day (20-30 min). Please register by Wednesday, November 10.
