A conversation about African-American portrayals in the arts and popular culture with celebrated actor, writer, director and Binghamton University alumnus, Ruben Santiago-Hudson ’78, led by local resident, Sharon Ball. Ball retired as director of the Broome County Arts Council in Binghamton and worked as an award-winning senior editor with NPR News in Washington, D.C. Opportunity for questions from the floor will be provided. A public reception follows the event at the Binghamton University Art Museum, currently featuring the exhibition “not but nothing other: African-American Portrayals, 1930s to Today.” Sponsored by the Harpur College Dean's Office and supported by the Latin American Student Union.
