The Ecoblitz Kickoff event will have tours and activity or information tables, and opportunities to log data, with the goal to unite students, classes, researchers, conservation organizations, and community members to document biodiversity on campus! We will use the free nature identification app iNaturalist to collect data during this event. At the Kickoff events, we had 20-30 tables from student groups, classes, researchers and lab groups, and local parks, including Binghamton University Sustainability Hub, Broome County Parks, National Audubon Student Conservation Chapter, Cornell Herpetological Society, BUgs!, NY State Parks, Ross Park Zoo, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and NEST. This year, the EcoBlitz will be sponsored by BU’s Natural Environmental Change Center (NATCHANGE). More information can be found on the Ecoblitz Website.
