This course is required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. This course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. This mandated training course covers security guard basics: • Role of a security guard • Legal powers and limitations • Emergency situations • Communications and public relations • Access control • Ethics and conduct All participants must pass an examination at the conclusion of class with a grade of at least 70%. The test covers material presented in class and is in a true/false & multiple choice format. Names of those who successfully complete the course and exam are recorded with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services Security Guard Program. You must wear a mask while attending this class. Cancellation Policy: (for Security Guard classes only) All students will be entitled to a 100% refund prior to the start of instruction and a 50% refund if the cancellation is before the start of the second session.
