The Heat is On: Exploring the Effects of Climate Change Climate change is one of the most salient examples of humankind victimized by its own success. Though we've come a long way in our ability to produce energy-efficient cars, electronics and appliances, it's not enough. The effects of global warming are felt far beyond the big city, as small islands face the threat of disappearance due to melting ice caps and rising water levels. How can we stem the tide of climate change? What role does public policy play in helping to avert a crisis? And, how do we communicate the importance of this issue, so people change their habits for the benefit of all? Join us for this talk featuring speakers Amy Hyatt '78, U.S. Ambassador to Palau; Seth Schultz '01, special adviser of research and innovation to the Global Covenant of Mayors; and Tasfia Nayem '14, formerly a climate change communicator for the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
